December is here and if you're anything like me, your fly box is decimated from a fantastic year of fishing. Thats why many anglers alike turn to fly tying during the winter months as a way to help refill those boxes. A few weeks ago I talked about everything that you need in order to get started in fly tying, now in this video I want to show you have to use those tools. In this video, we will be going over what is probably everyone's first fly on the vise, the San Juan Worm. After watching this video, you will be able to tie this effective pattern as well as have an understand how to use those same techniques in other flies as well. In the future, I even plan on making fly tying videos that get into more advanced patterns and techniques.
Winter is right around the corner and a favorite pass time of many fly anglers is fly tying. If you have never done any fly tying and have always been interested, this video is for you. In this video, I go over all of the aspects of what you can expect for getting into fly tying. From what tools you need to different materials, I will show you everything you need to know. And who knows, maybe in the future I will even do a series on how to tie various patterns and what you will need for them.
