You can keep your personal mementos and memories in its many secret flaps, pockets, and tuck spots, fill every space with your words, thoughts, and reminders. You cannot spoil a junk journal. You can only make it more beautiful by making it your own.
This journal is completely handcrafted piece by piece and made from an altered vintage book. I hand dye all of the dyed paper myself and the journal is made here in my studio.
Each paper and images are carefully selected to create an enjoyment of the eye and various textures for the fingers. There are a variety of paper types throughout the journal, including coffee dyed drawing paper, parchment paper, writing paper, graph paper, blank newspaper print paper, vintage penmanship practice paper, vintage sheet music, pages from vintage botanical books, vintage fishing books, pages from a vintage book of quotes/sayings, vintage catalog pages, vintage dictionary pages, variety of beautiful wrapping papers, vintage computer paper and so much more.
I've done a lot of sewing throughout the journal. Each signature features pretty fabric tabs. All of the pockets/tuck spots are sewn into the journal. A lot of the pockets/tuck spots are made using vintage images from many sources.
Most of the page embellishing I've done is on the edges of pages, so there is a lot of space for writing or sketching.
